Kingfishers

********************* PLEASE REMEMBER *********************
As fairly rare and easily disturbed birds, Kingfishers are afforded the highest degree of legal protection under Schedule 1 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981. If you “intentionally or recklessly” disturb a Kingfisher (or any other bird listed in Schedule 1) whilst trying to photograph it “in, on, at or near” the nest or whilst it has dependent young, and without the necessary Licence from Scottish Natural Heritage, Natural England or Natural Resources Wales you may be committing a criminal offence punishable by a fine of up to £5,000 and/or a prison sentence of up to 6 months.
See 'Schedule 1 Licensing' page for more details.

I have studied, monitored and photographed Kingfishers at their nest sites (under the appropriate licences from Natural England and the British Trust for Ornithology - BTO) and elsewhere for almost 10 years and have amassed a library of more than 2,000 images of these beautiful birds covering almost every aspect of their behaviour and which many have described as being one of the most comprehensive collections of Kingfisher photographs available anywhere. So if it's Kingfisher photos you are looking for you have come to the right place!
Here are some examples -

speaking about some of my Kingfisher images - "....I have seen hundreds of good common Kingfisher pics, but none better than here..."
